Unisame lauds crackdown versus outlaws, seeks SMEs promotion.

KARACHI -- The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) whilst fully appreciating strict action against smuggling, hoarding, profiteering and money exchangers malpractices urged the government to give special attention to SMEs who have suffered much loss of business and unaffordibility due to inflation and high cost of production and compelled to close their units, says a Press release. President UNISAME Zulfikar Thaver said the SMEs is the only sector which is vibrant and bonafide SMEs have been disabled to import their raw materials and due to this curtailment cannot export.

Secondly whatever little imports were made were made at the earlier high parity rate of dollar resulting in high landed cost but now with the appreciation of rupee they are again disabled as their imported cost is higher than the current prevailing price but nevertheless feel it will prove good in future and this is the only favourable aspect of rupee appreciation which is consoling them...
