Two 'robbers' killed in encounters.

Two suspected robbers were killed and another was injured in police encounters in Batala Colony and Razaabad areas on Tuesday.

Police said the men who were killed were nominated in several criminals cases registered in different police stations. They had fled after a robbery and were killed during exchange of fire with the Dolphin Squad and Batala Colony police.

Sunni Ahmed and his wife were returning home at dawn after purchasing medicines when four robbers on two motorcycles snatched Rs11,000 and mobile phones from them and fled towards Hilal Road.

A patrolling team of Dolphin Squad signaled the suspects on a motorbike to stop near Ganda Khooh Chowk. The dacoits opened fire at the police when they were chased.

On the call of the Dolphin Squad, the Batala Colony SHO along with Inspector Waheed Shahid and other policemen reached the spot and chased the robbers.

Police cordoned off the area and encircled the suspects, but they continued firing at the officials.
