Three alleged extortionists held in Karachi.

KARACHI -- A gang of three extortionist was busted by the Sindh Rangers on Friday during a targeted operation in the metropolis with three of its members arrested.

According to a spokesman for the paramilitary force, on intelligence information the Rangers personnel carried out raids in Lyari and Garden areas where they arrested three suspects identified as Abdul Aziz, Majed and Sohail alias Ekram alias Sani.

During interrogations, the held suspects confessed to demand Rs3m as protection money from the owner of a medical and general store in Lyari's Khadda Market through a telephone call and also threatened him with dire consequences in case of non-payment of demanded money.
