Shahid Afridi joins Pakistan team for inaugural Over-40 World Cup.

Pakistan cricket team's former captain Shahid Afridi has decided to take part in the inaugural Over-40 World Cup.

The tournament was originally set to take place in Pakistan but has been moved to Cape Town South Africa by the organisers The International Masters Cricket (IMC) committee. It is scheduled to take place from the 4th to the 18th of March 2024.

Eight teams will reportedly take part in the competition with Australia, West Indies, Canada, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, UAE and the US joining Pakistan.

Afridi, whose career spanned two decades from 1996 to 2016, reportedly agreed to be part of the Pakistan squad after meeting with Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) chairman Fawad Ijaz Khan.
