ISLAMABAD -- Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, Sardar Aijaz Ahmad Jaffer has said that incumbent government is firmly determined for the promotion of education and enhancement of rate of literacy across the country.

He stated this while chairing a joint meeting along with Punjab Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education Secretary Salman Ejaz at the Civil Secretariat in Lahore on Friday.

The core objective of the meeting is to achieve one hundred percent literacy rate by using mass media especially PTV across the country.

Addressing the meeting, ACS Aijaz Ahmad said that the government is taking all possible measures to enhance the rate of literacy in the country.

He urged the media organizations and educational institutes to play their due role of corporate social responsibility and launch education based programme in tandem with Punjab Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education Secretary. He said the proposals are under consideration for the spreading of message of taking collective efforts for the enhancement of the rate of literacy.

He said the PTV and other mass media will be assigned a task of creating awareness among the masses about the literacy and non-formal education so as to take the masses on board in the mutual efforts of achieving one hundred percent rate of literacy in Pakistan.
