Rs19.9b given to martyrs' families in 2018.

KARACHI -- The Sindh Police Welfare Department distributed Rs19.9 billion among the families of 42 martyrs in 2018 while more than Rs3 million were spent on the treatment of injured personnel.

The Sindh Police Welfare Department has issued a progress report for 2018 as the year comes to an end. According to this report, in 2018 from January 1 to December 15 a total of Rs19.9b has been distributed and Rs3m have been used for the treatment of 22 injured police officers. In addition to this, 31 police officers who were severely injured during police encounters have received their medical treatment from Agha Khan University Hospital, for which rupees Rs1.82b have been paid to the hospital.
