Punjab CM writes to ECP over security situation in Punjab.

ISLAMABAD -- Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has written a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regarding the current security situation in Punjab, and to tell the chief election commissioner (CEC) that he would like to brief him on the matter at the earliest.

In the letter, it has been said that in the last few days, there have been incidents of arson and violence in the whole country, especially in Punjab. Many government properties were targeted and damaged, it added.

'I hope this letter finds you in the best of health and high spirits. We have witnessed violence and bloodshed by antisocial elements in the entire country and especially Punjab in [the] last few days,' he wrote.

'These violent incidents not only caused huge financial loss to public and private property but also many LEAs personnel were seriously injured in protecting life and property of people,' he added.
