President confers insignia of Nishan-e-Imtiaz (M) upon Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf.

The President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi decorated the naval chief with the award in recognition of his meritorious services at a special ceremony held in Islamabad at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, during the week. Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, and services chiefs attended the ceremony.

Admiral Ashraf assumed the role of the 23rd Naval Chief of Staff during the change of command ceremony in Islamabad last week. He commenced his naval career in 1989, joining the Operations Branch of Pakistan Navy. He is a graduate of the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad, the US Naval War College, and the UK's Royal College of Defence Studies.
