Pakistan set to host SAARC video conference on COVID-19 today.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is set to host the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) video conference on coronavirus that is scheduled for April 23, a statement from the Foreign Office said on Wednesday.

"Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Health Dr Zafar Mirza will lead the Pakistan delegation. Besides Ministers/ Senior Officials, the meeting will be attended by Secretary General SAARC, His Excellency Esala Ruwan Weerakon," said the statement. The virtual meeting takes forward Pakistan's earlier initiative to host the SAARC Health Ministers meeting, which has assumed urgency in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the statement read.
