Pakistan calls for ceasefire in Israel-Palestine conflict.

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan'sForeign Office has issued astatement expressing deepconcern over the recent esca lation of hostilities betweenIsrael and Palestinians in theMiddle East.

The statement, released onSaturday, underscores theurgent need for a ceasefireand a return to peacefulnegotiations.

"We are closely monitor ing the unfolding situation inthe Middle East and theeruption of hostilitiesbetween Israel andPalestinians. We are con cerned about the human costof the escalating situation,"the statement read.

Pakistan's stance on theIsrael-Palestine conflict hasbeen consistent, advocatingfor a two-state solution asthe key to enduring peace inthe region. The foreignoffice emphasised the impor tance of a "just, comprehen sive, and lasting solution tothe Palestinian questionanchored in internationallaw and in line with relevantUnited Nations and OIC(Organisation of IslamicCooperation) resolutions."

Pakistan's position is that aviable, sovereign, and con tiguous State of Palestineshould be established on thebasis of pre-1967 borders,with Al Quds Al-Sharif(Jerusalem) as its capital.

This stance aligns with theinternational community'sefforts to find a peaceful res olution to the long-standingconflict.
