LAHORE -- Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday visited the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) and ordered upgradation of the hospital's emergency block in three months' time.

The chief minister also directed that work on the upgradation of the block's ground floor be started in the beginning of next week. He said that once the upgradation work was over, new surgeons would be hired from foreign countries. "After the Board's approval, surgeons will also be hired on contract," he said, adding, "New ICUs and operation theaters will be built, while 100 new beds will also be provided to the institute."
