(National): NAB retrieves 1094 acres of forest land worth Rs1.3b from 57 influential encroachers in Sukkur.

ISLAMABAD -- In compliance of the Sindh High Court (SHC) orders, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has retrieved 1094 acres of forest land worth Rs1.3 billion from 57 influential encroachers in Sukkur.

The SHC had directed the Chairman and Director General NAB to look into the matters of encroachment, illegal allotment and illegal mutations of Forest land of Sindh. Besides, an Inquiry against the officers/officials of Forest Department Sukkur and others was authorized.

During the course of inquiry, relevant record was obtained from Revenue and Forest Department regarding illegal allotment of Forest land in favour of influential persons.
