LWMC officials received extra perks for a project that was never executed.

Islamabad: A number of employees in Lahore Waste Management Company's (LWMC) had been receiving officiating allowances for many years for the 'Three Cities Project' that only exited in papers, Daily Times has learnt.

After having no update or zero progress regarding the said project since it was designed in 2017, the present management of LWMC has announced to abolish this project.

For the execution of project at least five employees of LWMC were given additional charges with extra salaries.

Sources said that during previous government decided to initiate LWMC like project to manage the solid waste system of three cities Sheikhupura, Kasur and Nankana Sahib. This task was given to LWMC to prepare feasibility report after conducting proper survey so that project can be executed in letter and spirit.
