KP reports biggest jump in fatalities.

Islamabad -- Pakistan has confirmed 97 deaths by novel coronavirus in one day as the number of positive cases has surged to 146,713 on Monday. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 2,783.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center 5,248 persons have been tested positive for Covid-19 in 24 hours.

Till now 54,138 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 55,581 in Sindh, 18,472 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 8,177 in Balochistan, 8,569 in Islamabad, 1,129 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 647 in Azad Kashmir.

Director General Afghan Transit Trade Zahid Khokhar lost his to the coronavirus on Monday, confirmed the family members of the civil servant.

Meanwhile, the national database for coronavirus shows that Punjab has reported another 1,537 cases in the past 24 hours. This takes the provincial tally to 54,138. On the other hand, 62 new deaths have also been reported from the province, taking the provincial tally to 1,031.
