Khwaja Izharul Hasan, three others injured in road accident.

KARACHI -- Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Khwaja Izharul Hasan and his three guards were injured in a road accident near Toll Plaza on Super Highway. The incident occurred while Izhar was coming back to Karachi from Ghotki after meeting Prime Minister Imran Khan late Saturday night. He was shifted to Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH). His condition, and the condition of his guards, was said to be critical. Izhar was scheduled for a surgery on Sunday morning and is now said to be out of danger. He has been shifted to a private room where he is now recovering. His three guards are also under treatment at the same hospital and one of them remains in critical condition.

The driver lost control of the car Izhar was travelling in causing the car to overturn and fall in a ravine. According to MQM-P leader Amir Khan, a squad vehicle also hit Izhar's car from the back after it had met with the accident. The hit resulted in more loss. 'Izhar has a deep wound in head but he is out of danger,' said Khan. He added that they learned of the incident at 3am.
