ISLAMABAD: The metropolis remained in the grip of a heat wave on Wednesday, with the mercury shooting up to 42 degree Celsius mark. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a heat wave alert on its website, stating that the maximum temperature would range between 40 degree Celsius and 42 degree Celsius until May 4. Hot winds from north and northwest direction at the speed of up to 15 kilometres are likely to dominate, especially during the daytimes, the PMD said.
