Govt removes PTV MD after 'begging' fiasco.

ISLAMABAD -- The Ministry of Information removed the acting managing director of state-owned Pakistan Television Network (PTV) on Tuesday in the aftermath of 'begging' fiasco.

A notification issued by the ministry stated 'the charge of Colonel (retd) Hassan Immad Mohammdi as PTV MD was withdrawn with immediate effect and till further orders'.

The move comes a day after the state-run broadcaster issued an apology for running 'begging' instead of 'Beijing' on screen during Prime Minister Imran Khan's address to the Central Party School of the Communist Party of China in Beijing.
