Germany to give 12m euros for K-P, G-B schemes.

ISLAMABAD -- The German Development Bank, KfW will provide grant assistance of Euros 12 million to Pakistan for Social Health Protection Phase-II in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B).

The financing agreements in this regard were signed here by Economic Affairs Division Secretary Noor Ahmed and German Development Bank (KfW) Country Director Wolfgang Moeller.

Under the agreements, the KfW will provide grant assistance worth pound 2.6 million for G-B and pound 9.4 million for K-P.

The financial contribution would be used exclusively for the development of Social Health Protection Schemes in the two areas to provide quality health care services to the registered beneficiaries.

German businessmen encouraged to invest in Pakistan

Health departments of K-P and G-B would be involved in the implementation of the programme, which would cover cost for hospitalisation for child birth, common diseases of childhood, injuries, accidents, common surgeries and medical ailments.
