Former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar said on Tuesday that she was serving a defamation notice to Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry.

'I am serving a defamation notice to the Honourable Minister for Information,' said Rabbani in a tweet. She added that in her 16 yrs of politics, she has have always chosen to ignore slander and false allegations.

'But now it seems politics has now been reduced to name-calling, false accusations and character assassination.'

The information minister on Tuesday alleged that Khar's Galaxy Textile Mills was a defaulter of Rs 20.70 million in electricity bills.

In a tweet, the minister asked the former foreign minister to pay the outstanding electricity bills of of the textile mills, 'rather than squandering the money over paying lawyers' fee.'

The minister also shared Galaxy Textile Mills electricity bill payment according to which Hina had paid only Rs 55 million up to September 2013 out of a total dues of 70.246 million, and did not pay the remaining Rs 15.246 million and a mark up of Rs...
