Covid claims lives of 63 healthcare workers across Pakistan.

LAHORE -- At least 63 doctors, paramedics and others affiliated with healthcare sectors have died of coronavirus while battling on the frontline against the disease.

According to figures compiled By: the medical community, 30 doctors, three nurses, a paramedic and an operation theatre assistant have lost their lives to Covid-19 in Punjab; 11 doctors and one nurse in Sindh; six doctors, two nurses and one paramedic in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa; four doctors and three paramedics in Balochistan; an operation theatre technician at PIMS in Islamabad; and one doctor in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The casualties in Lahore include Prof Ijaz Ahsan, Dr Muhammad Saleem, Dr Sana Fatima, Dr Salman Tahir , Dr Hafiz Maqsood, Dr Zia, Dr Asif Ali, Dr Ali Nazir, Dr Husne Ahmad, Dr Basit Ghafoor, Dr Rahat Maqsood, Dr Ghulam Hussain Dr Asif Mughal and Dr Anwer Sulehri. Other healthcare workers who have passed away in Punjab include Dr Naeem Akhtar, Dr Gulzar and Dr Asma Hassan in Gujranwala, Dr Syed Nasir Ali and Dr Wasim Mushtaq and Nurse Parveen in Faisalabad, Dr Munawar Javaid and Dr Akram Qureshi in Sialkot, Dr Tanveer Akram and Dr Irshad Sandhu in Sargodha, Dr Javed Bajwani and Dr Khalid Masood in Dera Ghazi Khan, Dr Rabia Tayyab and Operation Theatre Assistant Rangeen Khan in Rawalpindi, Dr Akhter Hussain in Muridke, Dr Umer Daraz in Okara, Dr Musaddiq Hussain...
