Court annoyed at non-completion of probe against Durrani.

KARACHI -- An accountability court on Friday expressed annoyance at National Accountability Bureau (NAB) official for his failure in completing an investigation against Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani in an assets beyond means case despite passage of two months.

The court heard the case against Durrani, who was produced before it amid strict security. The judge asked Investigation Officer (IO) to give explanation on why the investigation could not be completed yet against the speaker who has been behind prison since two months.

IO said that a probe report had been forwarded to NAB headquarters for approval from NAB chairman. Durrani's counsel contended before the court that his client's arrest was illegal, so NAB should be directed to produce all record of the investigation which has been got against his client.
