Confirmed Corona cases surge to 187,376 Death toll climbs to 3,695.

Islamabad -- Confirmed Coronavirus cases in the country climbed to 187,376 on Tuesday after 3,946 new infections were reported during the last 24 hours.

As of now, Punjab has reported 68,308 cases, Sindh 72,656, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 23,388 cases, Balochistan 9,587 cases, Islamabad 11,219 cases, Gilgit-Baltistan 1,326 cases and Azad Jammu and Kashmir 892 cases. The death toll also climbed to 3,729 with 105 deaths reported over the last 24 hours.

Punjab recorded 1,365 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours, taking the total number of infections to 68,308, according to the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department.

A spokesperson for the department said, 60 more people died from coronavirus, taking the total number of fatalities to 1,495 in the province. The number of people recovering from the disease has risen to 19,580, said the spokesperson.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ghani tested positive for the coronavirus for a second time, the provincial assembly speaker said on Tuesday.

'I had myself tested after two weeks and the test came back as positive again,' Ghani said, adding he had quarantined himself at home for the last 10 days. He added he does not have any symptoms of the virus.

Giving a break up of activities carried out by various local councils, Special Assistant to KP Chief Minister on Local Government Kamran Bangash said the local government offices carried out 842 activities, whereas the administration of the village council carried out 880,963 activities.
