Zardari, Talpur to appear before JIT in money laundering case.

KARACHI:Former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur will appear before a joint investigation team (JIT) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) probing the RS54 billion money laundering case. Last week, the JIT had also summoned Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardariin the case.

But, it has been reported that his counsel, Farooq Hamid Naik will appear on his behalf and submit replies in the questionnaire. Bilawal and Zardari are the chief executives of the Zardari Group, while Talpur is a director of the company.

According to the JIT's report, the FIA had found "sufficient evidence" against the top three PPP leaders. Earlier, Bilawal's spokesman Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar denied knowledge regarding a notice served to the PPP chairman by the JIT.
