YDA seeks action over doctor's 'torture'.

PESHAWAR -- Young Doctors Association has expressed concerns over what it called torturing of a doctor at Paraplegic Centre Hayatabad and has asked registration of FIR against the people involved in the incident.

In a statement here on Wednesday, YDA president Dr Rizwan Kundi strongly condemned the torture of Dr Mohammad Ramzan during duty. He said that the hand of the doctor was broken but the chief executive officer was protecting the culprits.

They said that the CEO suspended the doctor instead of filing FIR against the attendants of a patients involved in violence.

He said that the CEO had illegally occupied the seat for the last 13 years and misused his position.

Dr Rizwan asked the government to take notice of violence against doctor and bring into justice the administration for its inability to register a case against the people involved in the act.

He said that Dr Ramzan, head of rehabilitation unit of the centre, was brutally tortured by attendants of a patient on July 4. The attendants were staying at the centre illegally and attacked the doctor when he asked them to leave...
