World cannot afford an unstable Afghanistan, COAS told US special envoy.

Rawalpindi -- Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said the world and the region cannot afford an unstable Afghanistan, stressing upon need for global convergence to avert a looming humanitarian catastrophe.

The Army Chief shared his views during a meeting with United States Special Representative for Afghanistan Thomas West on Monday at General Headquarters Rawalpindi, said a press release issued by ISPR on Monday.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, current security situation in Afghanistan and bilateral cooperation opportunities in the context were discussed.
