Won't be participating in any political activity, says Junaid Safdar.

LONDON -- Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif's grandson Muhammad Junaid Safdar on Friday insisted that he will not be participating in any political activities as he confirmed that he had moved to the country.

Safdar took to Instagram to clarify that he has moved to Pakistan "purely to be of service" to his "parents, family and community".

He emphasised that he is not interested in pursuing politics "for now", adding that he had missed the winter weather in Lahore.

This social media post aimed to debunk rumours that Safdar would assist his mother and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz in the upcoming general elections.

Earlier this week, Maryam Nawaz was appointed as the party's senior vice president.
