Wahab urges President Alvi to prioritize country over PTI.

KARACHI -- Efforts will be made to curb profiteering during Ramadan with full force. This was said by spokesperson of the Sindh Government and Advisor to CM Sindh on Law, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, in a news conference held on Monday in the Sindh Assembly Committee Room.

Referring to price control measures taken by the Sindh Government, Wahab emphasized that an ordinance had been issued on March 23, requiring shopkeepers to sell food items at fixed prices during the month of Ramadan. Failure to comply with this rule would result in confiscation of the items and their sale at government rates on the spot, as well as strict legal action against the profiteers. Wahab added that the Sindh Government was punishing the profiteers, as fines alone were not enough to deter them.

Wahab also highlighted recent developments in the city such as the laying of the foundation stone for the country's biggest cardio hospital and the opening of the Jauhar Flyover to the public, as evidence of the government's commitment to service.

Addressing the issue of delayed local government elections, Wahab informed the Election Commission that elections for specific seats had not been held for several months, causing delays in the appointment of local body representatives.
