Video Scam probe committee summons DGs of IB, FIA for further evidence.

ISLAMABAD -- The cabinet committee formed on the directive of Prime Minister Imran Khan to probe into the alleged vote-trading video during Senate elections has summoned the director-generals (DGs) of two major investigation agencies of the country - Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) - for a hearing.

Pakistan Today learned that a meeting of the cabinet committee was held on the directive of the premier, in which private media anchor-person Arshad Sharif appeared before the committee.

The vote-selling video had been released by Arshad Sharif.

The investigation committee declared that the video was genuine and no evidence of forgery was found, so there was no need to forensically analyse the video.

The committee has also decided to summon the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) representative of the Special Branch. The record will be submitted to the video committee.

Earlier, the first meeting of the investigation committee on the video scandal was held on February 13, in which Fawad Chaudhry, Shirin Mazari and Shehzad Akbar attended.
