VC Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi inks different agreements in Iran.

KARACHI: Vice Chancellor of the University of Karachi Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi has signed a memorandum of understanding and a cooperation with the University of Isfahan, Iran, during his visit to the Iranian city.

Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi is invited to the fifth Mustafa (PBUH) prize award ceremony, said a statement issued by a spokesperson of KU here on Monday.

The international event serves as the paramount platform for acknowledging excellence in the realm of science and technology and is arranged annually by the Mustafa (PBUH) Science and Technology Foundation, Tehran, Iran.

The KU and the UI Iran have inked the MoU documents to establish a scientific collaboration with the universities of the two countries. The heads of both varsities have agreed to provide a joint platform for research activities for the students and faculty of both countries.

Both universities would invite outstanding scientists of one party in another country to contribute to enhancing joint collaboration. They have also talked about establishing varsity branches in either party's country.

According to the MoU, both parties have committed to admit postdoctoral researchers, co-supervise postgraduate dissertations, theses, and related exams, and review postgraduate dissertations and theses.
