'Undoing provincial autonomy may have disastrous consequences'.

HYDERABAD -- Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) information secretary Senator Moula Bux Chandio has declared that no one could undo the provincial autonomy given by PPP government.

'Even 10 prime ministers like Imran Khan put together cannot reverse it [the provincial autonomy granted under the 18th Constitutional Amendment],' he remarked while speaking to the media after offering Eid prayers in Qasimabad on Sunday.

He warned that if this was done, it would lead to disastrous consequences. He claimed that some federal ministers lacked understanding of matters and that was why they were following biased politics.

Mr Chandio said that those who did not have proper knowledge were discussing provincial autonomy, which was an issue addressed after a long time. These people, he added, lacked understanding of the issue. 'They simply do not know what provincial autonomy in Pakistan means and how it had become a major issue in the country,' he observed.

He noted that thousands of people had faced incarceration for raising their voice for provincial autonomy. He expressed his confidence that the federal ministers [speaking against provincial autonomy] would not succeed in their designs.

The senior PPP leader said that autonomy had been given to provinces on their longstanding demand, and remarked that even 10 prime ministers like Imran Khan put together could not be able to deprive them of autonomy. 'If it's revoked, it may lead...
