Two more polio cases surface in Sindh.

KARACHI -- Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) for polio Sindh has confirmed two new polio cases from Sindh, taking the cases toll to 19 in 2019. Spokesperson ECO Sindh informed that in Sukkur the polio virus was found in a 84 month girl who has weakness right upper and lower limb. The second case was a 22 months male from Tando Allah Yar who was severely affected by the polio virus and unfortunately has expired. It may be noted that the child was unwell for two weeks prior to paralysis and death is not attributed to polio virus. However this is extremely sad as polio is a vaccine preventable disease and the EOC requests all parents to vaccinate their children as refusing to do so is enabling the virus to spread and is putting other children at risk as well. The December campaign is a good foundation to build on and we must perform in the next two campaigns to start seeing good results.
