Two children die of dengue fever at NICH.

KARACHI -- Dengue viral fever has claimed lives of two children at the National Institute of Child Health (NICH), taking the death toll from this mosquito-borne disease to 32 since Jan 01, 2019. A three-month Moosa son of Iran resident of Korangi was shifted to the NICH with high grade fever and later tested dengue positive. He died due to dengue-related complications on Thursday. Similarly, a three-year old Taimoor, son of Hashim, resident of Bilal Colony was brought to the NICH five days ago with fever and died during treatment with suspected diagnosis of dengue/ hepatitis. A total 32 people have died due to dengue fever in government and private sector healthcare facilities of the city this year so far.
