Two arrested in decades old murder cases.

ISLAMABAD -- The capital police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested two persons involved in two separate murder cases reported in 1994 and 2003, sources told Dawn.

A deputy director of the CDA was gunned down on Feb17, 1994, near his house in G-6/4 while a student of Quaid-i-Azam University was killed over a hostel room dispute on Feb 23, 2003.

The police said CDA official, Ibrahim Khan, was gunned down mistakenly by two persons. One was arrested a few months after the incident from Faisalabad while the other was declared a proclaimed offender and held from his hideout in Islamabad on Monday night.

In the student murder case too, the murderer was declared a proclaimed offender as he had fled to Dubai soon after the incident.

Secretariat police SHO Khurram Shahzad told Dawn that Rehman Azam Cheema was residing in Hostel 4 of the QAU.
