Triple homicide suspects arrested.

SAHIWAL -- Pakpattan police arrested five people in Lodhran late on Thursday, allegedly involved in the murder of a former union council chairman and his two brothers on Wednesday near Jamal Kot, village 72-D.

The murder of Irshad Khokhar (former UC chairman), Mumtaz Khokhar and Tanveer Khokhar drew attention of Chief Minister Parvez Elahi and Inspector General of Police Faisal Shahkar, who asked Sahiwal Regional Police Officer (RPO) Tayyab Hafeez Cheema to arrest the killers as soon as possible.

On the complaint of Muhammad Tariq, a murder FIR was filed with the Malkan Hans police against Zafar Ali, Muhammad Asif, Farooq, Faiz and Imran, alias Mani. The suspects and the deceased had a long history of animosity.

RPO Cheema also opened a police post near the 98/D village.

SUSPENDED: The Sahiwal health chief executive officer, Dr Rai Samiullah, was suspended from job for corruption charges.

On Oct 24, he was transferred from Mianwali to Sahiwal.
