Transport owners hold demo against lockdown.

MULTAN -- Public transport owners blocked the Vehari Chowk against the lockdownhere on Tuesday and demanded the government allow them to run transport.

Score of protesters gathered at the roundabout and shouted slogans against the government while raising their demands. They warned to expand their protest if the transport was not allowed to run till May 9.

The participants in the protest complained that due to the closure of the transport, the families of the small transport owners, managers, booking clerks, mechanics, drivers, bus conductors and hawkers were suffering badly. Some of them said that they were unable to pay the installments of their vehicles financed by banks.

The demonstrators urged the parliamentarians to realise their hardships and play a role for reopening of the businesses, announcing a special support package for the transport owners and those related to this business.
