PESHAWAR -- A prominent transgender persons' rights activist in Peshawar says that incidents of violence against transgender persons have increased in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but most of the times they make a mistake in making 'friends'. Sanaya said while talking to local paper that many transgender persons don't check about background, character or reputation of people while making friendships. 'If a person has no character or values, he may be unpredictable in his actions, and friendship with such persons may be risky,' said Sanaya. Like other transgender persons, Sanaya also faced stiff resistance from family when she initially joined the profession of dancing at parties nine years ago. However, she convinced her family gradually, but still, she is living with her friends, not with family, although she visits her family every weak to know about their well being.
