Trade Facilitation needs early implementation of National Single Window President FPCCI.

KARACHI -- Engr. Daroo Khan Achakzai, President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) stressed the need of early implementation of National Single Window (NSW) to facilitate trade and support to improve country's ranking in ease of doing business index. He was speaking in the awareness session on NSW at Federation House jointly organized by FPCCI and PCAA. The session was attended by large number of stakeholders which was graced by Mr. S.M. Muneer former Chief Executive of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and Former President FPCCI. President FPCCI also stated that the NSW will help smooth dealing with all government agencies that are involved with the movement of trade, goods, including tax, immigration, quarantine, agriculture, fisheries, foreign affairs and central bank. He showed concerned over poor performance in World Bank Ease of Doing Business Index and told that Pakistan ranks 142 out of 190 countries in the 'Trading across Borders' indicator, He pointed that in order to improve governance of cross-border trade regimes with other economies most of the countries are increasingly relying on trade-related single window system.
