TMA employees demand Covid-19 risk allowance.

MANSEHRA -- The tehsil municipal administration's employees have demanded the payment of coronavirus risk allowance for fighting the Covid-19 on the front line.

'The TMA employees dispose of the waste of Covid-19 patients and disinfect quarantine centres by endangering their lives but the government has yet to provide them with any financial assistance,' chief sanitation inspector Mohammad Siddique told reporters here on Thursday.

Accompanied by a group of TMA employees, the official said many of the municipal administration's staff members were quarantined for showing Covid-19 symptoms.

'We deserve the Covid-19 risk allowance until this crisis is over,' he said.

Mr Siddique said the TMA employees had been disinfecting streets and roads since the outbreak of the virus.

'The government should give a serious consideration to our demand and order the payment of Covid-19 risk allowance before Eidul Fitr,' he said.

GOODS DISTRIBUTED: The district administration in collaboration with the Sungi Development Foundation on Thursday distributed relief goods to deserving families here.

Additional deputy commissioner Maqbool Hussain and Sungi Foundation regional coordinator Shahid Aziz gave away the packages consisting of ghee, flour, rice and other goods to the minority families, people with disabilities, and transgender persons.
