Three PR men injured as train hits tractor-trolley.

TOBA TEK SINGH -- A locomotive driver and two other railway employees were injured when a passenger train hit a sugarcane-laden tractor-trolley at an unmanned level-crossing near Kamalia late on Thursday night.

According to Rescue 1122, Lahore-bound Ravi Express train was coming from Shorkot cantonment station. When the train reached at a level-crossing near Chak 706-GB located between Pirmahal and Kamalia railway stations, it hit a tractor-trolley loaded with sugarcane that broke down and got stuck on the tracks.

Rescuers said the accident occurred because of poor visibility caused by dense fog.

As a result, the locomotive driver, Muhammad Azad (40) and two other staffers, Athar Ali (48) and Javed Iqbal (38) were injured.

The injured were shifted to the Kamalia Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

The railway staff removed the tractor-trolley from the tracks and the train departed for Lahore.
