Three killed, one commits suicide in Lahore.

LAHORE -- Three persons, including a woman, were killed in separate incidents while a young man committed suicide in the provincial metropolis on Sunday.

Of them, an 18-year-old boy died when the string of a stray kite cut his throat, a woman allegedly strangled by her husband while an elderly man was shot dead over a property dispute.

In the Islampura area, Usman Yousaf was going to a market on a motorcycle with his elder brother, Ali Haider, to purchase edibles. A police official said as they reached the Bund Road, the string of a stray kite slit throat of Usman.

Quoting Haider, he said, the motorcycle suddenly slipped on the road and both the brothers fell down. Moments later, Haider found Usman in a pool of blood. Rescue 1122 and the police were called but Usman had died before any treatment.

The DIG (operations) suspended Islampura SHO from service for failure to stop kite flying in his area.

In the other incident, Rabia Bibi was found strangled in her in-laws' house in the Sanda area.

A mother of a six-month-old baby, the woman was married to Shafiq Ahmad.

Shafiq claimed that Rabia had committed suicide following family disputes while her parents alleged that their daughter was strangled by her husband.

The deceased's sister told police that Shafiq used to torture Rabia. She said Shafiq was previously married and he had concealed it from Rabia.

Police sent the body to the morgue for autopsy and arrested Shafiq for interrogation.
