Three Convicted for the Murder of S.zorig

On December 27, B.Sodnomdarjaa, T.Chimegee, and Ts.Amgalanbaatar have been convicted to 25, 24, and 25 years in prison for the murder of S.Zorig after five days of closed trial at Sukhbaatar District Criminal Court.

B.Sodnomdarjaa was convicted of conspiring to commit violent murder in order to cover up another murder, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was sentenced to 25 years of imprisonment. T.Chimegee was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and intentional murder, and was sentenced to 24 years in prison. Ts.Amgalanbaatar was charged for repeated murder, and for covering-up a crime.

Ts.Amgalanbaatar is to carry out 20 years of his imprisonment in a Gyandan, a type of prison in Mongolia, which operates under very specific and strict rules. The remaining time will be carried out at a high-security prison camp.

The 484 days the three spent in captivity will be deducted from the prison sentence. The attorneys or families may repeal within 14 days.
