In the early 20th century, Roy Chapman Andrews blazed trails across Mongolia to share his fossil findings with the world. His second and third “Central Asiatic Expeditions” touched on Mongolian territory six times in 1919, 1922, 1923, 1925, 1928, and 1930. Those expeditions proved that Mongolia was a scientifically unique and important region with large amounts of ornithology, geology, paleontology, paleobotany and archeological resources.
