Testimonies recorded in 2013 kidnap, murder case of two Rangers' officials.

KARACHI -- An antiterrorism court on Monday recorded testimonies of three prosecution witnesses in a case pertaining to alleged kidnapping and killing of two Rangers personnel against Uzair Jan Baloch, the chief of the outlawed Peoples Amn Committee, and another man.

The alleged Lyari kingpin Uzair Baloch and Shaikh Sher Mohammad Sheroo have been charged with killing Rangers intelligence officials - Havaldar Muneer Ahmed and Havaldar Ejaz Ahmed - after kidnapping them in 2013 within the remit of the Pak Colony police station.

On Monday, the matter came up before the ATC-XVI judge for recording statements of the prosecution witnesses.

Uzair Baloch and Sher Mohammad were produced from prison.

On the last date of hearing, Advocate Abid Zaman had filed power of attorney on behalf of Uzair after his custody was recently shifted to the prison from the army's Corps-V in Karachi.

Prosecution officials said trials in dozens of cases, including the present case, against Uzair remained stalled for around three years as he was in custody of the army for trial...
