Tank residents complain about getting contaminated water.

TANK -- The tehsil municipal administration, Tank, has been supplying contaminated water to the people, people complained.

Talking to Dawn here, they urged the Peshawar High Court to take notice of the government`s failure to implement its order of providing clean drinking water to people. They also asked the National Institute of Health to take notice of the matter.

The locals called upon the Pakistan Council for Scientific and Industrial Research to conduct a survey and recommend action against the municipal committee Tank for supplying contaminated water to the citizens.

It merits a mention here that the PHC in a judgment on Nov 2017 had ordered the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to ensure supply of clean drinking water to residents of the provincial capital and other cities of the province.

The court had also observed that `it must be ensured that potable water was made free from all types of contamination and should be fit for human consumption`.
