Students urged to take part in sports for better physical and mental health.

PESHAWAR -- Speakers at a ceremony here on Sunday asked students to participate in sports activities for their better health and physical fitness.

They said that young students were required to get engaged in sports alongside study as it would help them to remain away from anti-social activities.

The event was arranged here under the auspices of PPS and College to honour football star Mohammad Tufail Shinwari.

Principal Prof Iftikhar Ahmad while chairing the event said that co-curriculum activities, including sports, should get priority on the campuses alongside academic excellence.

He said sports helped the students to keep up better physical and mental health.

Mr Shinwari, who had recently made headlines in mainstream media due to his stunning performance in the world street child football tournament played in Qatar, was accorded a warm welcome on his one-day trip to Peshawar.
