Steps to be taken to resolve water shortage in capital: MNA.

ISLAMABAD -- Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Capital Development Authority (CDA) MNA Ali Nawaz Awan on Monday said every possible step would be taken to ensure sufficient supply of water to the residents in summer.

`Chairing a meeting, Minister for Planning Asad Umar also directed the authorities concerned to ensure smooth supply of water to residents of Islamabad,` he told Dawn.

`In the light of the decision taken at the meeting, another meeting will be held in my office on Tuesday. We have directed the water supply directorate to fix all faulty tubewells,` he said.

He said the planning minister reviewed the progress on improvement of water supply to Islamabad with special focus on 1-8, 1-9 and 1-10, which are dependent on tubewells. He said the chief officer of the Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI) informed the meeting that leakages on the main conduction line from Poona Fageeran, where tubewellsare installed, had been fixed.
