State Bank to face Omar Associates in final.

KARACHI -- State Bank and Omar Associates chose different routes to make it to the Brighto presents Osaka Naya Nazimabad Ramazan Cup final at the Naya Stadium here on Saturday.

In contrasting semi-finals, State Bank edged past Agha Estate by five runs after experienced left-arm seamer Taj Wali delivered a magnificent last over that started with the novices requiring only seven runs, while holders Omar Associates crushed Port Qasim by nine wickets.

Khurram Manzoor scored 47 off 36 balls as Port Qasim reached 134-7; leg-spinner Usman Qadir grabbed 3-25.

Omar Associates lost Ahsan Ali (1) early on but Umar Akmal (65 off 27 balls, six sixes and four fours) and man-of-the-match Usman Khan (72 off 27, seven fours and six sixes) blasted together 126 to guide the champions home in just 9.3 overs.

The second semi-final saw State Bank muster 138-8 with the spin trio of Mohammad Sarwar (3-28), Surab Baloch and Wasim Qureshi sharing the wickets.
