Soekarno passes away.
ISLAMABAD -- Dr Ahmed Soekarno, Father and Founder President of Indonesia, a great and true friend of Pakistan, and one of the greatest freedom fighters and nation-welders of all time, passed away peacefully in Jalcarta at 0710 (local time) yesterday morning [June 21]. Indonesia went into a seven-day national mourniang for its liberator who will be given a state funeral and buried with full state honours today alongside his mother at Blitar, his birthplace.
President Yahya expressed his deep sense of grief and voicing the sentiments of the nation in a condolence message to President Suharto said the people of Pakistan would never forget Dr Soekarno`s contribution to the understanding and friendship existing between Pakistan...
