Shopkeepers fined for violating food law.

TIMERGARA -- The food department booked several shopkeepers in Timergara city on Friday for selling expired food items and overcharging commuters.

District food controller Abu Bakar Mehmood along with other officials visited different markets in Timergara city and checked quality and prices of food items.

Cases were registered against several shopkeepers for not displaying official price list, selling expired food items and adulteration. The shopkeepers were also fined and Rs40,000 had been recovered from them. The official warned the shopkeepers and hotel owners of strict action in case of violation of the food act in future.
