SHC summons DG NAB on charges of demanding bribe against NAB's investigation officer.

KARACHI -- Sindh High Court (SHC), while issuing notice on the charges of demanding bribe against the investigation officer of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), has summoned Director General (DG) NAB.

Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Ahmed Ali M Sheikh on Wednesday conducted hearing of a petition filed by a citizen in the court. The petitioner contended that the investigation officer of NAB Sajid Nadeem summoned him at 2.00 am at night at the house of builder as builder Farooq is friend of NAB's officer and state agent was also present there.

According to Imran, a bribe amounting to one million rupees was demanded from him. The petitioner also played recording of the conversation in the courtroom.

After hearing the recording of the conversation, the chief justice said there should be some shame, saying that one dies of shame if it exists there , saying that one should even think of his relation with a national institution and should not blot it if cannot enhance its respect.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sindh High Court summoned director general of the National Accountability Bureau Karachi on April 16 in a case pertaining to a bogus call-up notice issued to a citizen by the NAB.
